We are excited to announce something new for the How Do I Do That Technology Series!

In addition to the existing scheduled sessions, we are adding a series of virtual opportunities to expand your Professional Development and growth. Each of these will center around a chance to produce a product using a specified tool (and, in the process, learn a new tool!).

For the first of these App Explorer Challenges, we will be focusing on iMovie.

To partake in the program, you will need to produce a video using the iMovie app on your iPad.

Criteria for the videos
Must be about a concept that you teach in your classroom.
Must be no shorter than 2 minutes.
Must be no longer than 3 minutes.
Must be made in iMovie on an iPad (sorry, not on your MacBook or iMac…)
Must utilize graphics.

To submit a video, you will need to export the video and place it in your Google Drive before sharing it with Tim Calvin (calvin@bpsk12.org). Tim will upload the videos to a YouTube channel to be viewable and (hopefully!) used by other educators in their classrooms.

Completion of this first challenge must be by February 25th.

Participation in each session of this virtual How Do I Do That – App Explorer Challenge  will provide you with 3 hours towards in-service credit! BPS teachers can bundle hours of participation at How Do I Do That sessions and BPS EdTech events during the school year for Burlington inservice credits. Ten hours of participation will earn one inservice credit. Twenty hours will earn two inservice credits. There is a maximum of two credits for staff members each year.

Tuesday, February 25 will be a topic session. The BPS EdTech Team will provide a detailed overview of the best ways to integrate Google Drive into your classroom’s digital workflow. We will explore the creation of distribution lists and groups as well as way to create content, distribute content, and assess content all digitally through Drive.

Thank you to Craig Badura and his Comfortably 2.0 site for the inspiration for our new App Explorer Challenge. Read more from Craig and check out his excellent technology integration blog.
